TV Studio

Simon is currently working as a Supervisory Studio Engineer at BBC Studioworks.  Based at the legendary Television Centre, Simon helps some of the biggest shows on UK Television make it to air – ensuring millions of viewers are able to enjoy their favourites without interruption.

BBC Studioworks is a commercial subsidiary of the British Broadcasting Corporation and provides studio and post-production facilities for all UK broadcasters.

Before joining the BBC, Simon carried out a similar role at ITV London Studios (TLS).

Simon has worked on high profile Light Entertainment shows such as Saturday Night Takeaway, Graham Norton, Jonathan Ross, Have I Got News For You, The Last Leg and Alan Carr’s Chatty Man.

Simon is fluent in popular broadcast systems from manufacturers including EVS, Calrec, Sony, Avid, Riedel, and Trilogy. He is Avid ACSR qualified.

As well as engineering, Simon is also a competent operator, having started his TV career in a muti-skilled environment and is able to step into Vision Engineering, Sound mixing and camera operating roles with ease.

Prior to joining the London Studios, Simon worked for ITV Meridian as the engineer solely responsible for regional news in the South of England.

Simon designed the complex transmission switching for ITV Meridian which allows them to route multiple regional news programmes to different transmitters at a touch of a button.
